Simple Bunny Leech

This is about as simple as it gets for a streamer. In fact I would say its even easier than a wooly bugger to tie, and just as versatile. This fly I learned to tie while working at a fly shop on the San Juan River in New Mexico called Float n Fish. The shop owner tied these for his customers regularly and it really worked great as an inexpensive little streamer that just plain worked. I found that I could use just about any technique for this fly. Dead drifting, stripping, swinging, and even nymphing it under an indicator. When nymphing it, I would regularly also drop a nymph on the back of it incase the trout missed the streamer, they would then have a nymph in front of their face to eat up. One of my favorite colors was what I tied today, all white. This would mimic the trout they would regularly stock in the river. Big browns come up from the depths to eat the stockers and would go after these flies. But black, olive, brown, and even chartreuse work great as well.

As you all know, I work closely withwww.risenfly.com and they have offered every one of my subscribers a discount. So go to their shop, and type in "McFly" at checkout for 15% off of anything you buy on their site.

The GFF money box

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
