NZ Stillwaters

Lakes have always been a source of amazement for me, they have so many moods and are often a last resort (and savior) when rivers and streams are coloured by rain. Under-fished and under-rated, the South Island of New Zealand is literally dotted with thousands of small lakes which mostly all hold trout. Stalking the edges for cruising browns is one of my favourite fly fishing methods. The fish, so often beautifully marked and the serenity unmatched. When everybody heads for the remote rivers, solace can be found lapping by a roadside somewhere...

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
