A little tour of my tying room
This ia a short tour of my tying room and photo studio here at home. Not the best filming but you'll get a good idea of how its layed out and works.
Adult blue damsel
One of my most simple patterns. A semi realistic but quick tie for a perfect adult blue damsel that works extremely well when they are on the water.
Brassie and partridge spider
A neat little spider pattern that has worked wonders for me when fishing a traditional across and down stream wet fly method.
Great Grey Sedge
An unusual but good looking pattern. This large caddis fly ticks all the boxes when it comes to a large adult skating caddis imitation.
Ammonite Nymph
An excellent looking nymph for those deep water grayling and trout.
Peacock Caddis
This is an old but reliable pattern used especially in fast riffles and for searching pocket water.
Renegade
This old but still effective, for and aft pattern, was one of Ernest Hemingway's top trout flies.
Quill Wing Blue Dun
A classic quill wing style dun. A traditional pattern and technique that gives one of the best footprints and silhouettes of an adult mayfly.
Beetle Bug
A real simple beetle/bug that has never failed me even under super selective feeding.
Dunkeld
This is the trout version of the river Tay salmon fly. Also better known for being a killer sea trout pattern for peaty coloured rivers and lochs.
John Storey dry fly
A rather unusual pattern from North Yorkshire that has gained a super reputation as a real trout and grayling treat.
Coch-y-Bonddu
This well known Welsh pattern represents a small beetle of the same name (red & black) that is found along the river and lake banks of the Welsh countryside.
Mosquito Midge
A simple but effective pattern for mosquito and midge fishing with a couple of nifty techniques and only using Grizzle hackle and moose mane hair.
CdC Para Weld Midge
This little midge has proven a great asset early on in the season under difficult midge hatching conditions and later also as a mosquito.
Clouser Minnow
A modern classic. According to Bob Clouser's web site, Lefty Kreh has caught 86 different spiecies of game fish on the Clouser minnow.
Halo Glass Shrimp
A little semi realistic transparent shrimp for sea trout and other salty species. An effective and easy pattern that looks the business!
Royal Wulff
This totally new technique and material makes it possible to tie flies like the classic Royal Wulff perfect every time in under 3 minutes.
Lap Dancer
One of my fusion sea trout patterns for salt water inspired by the many Danish patterns that use primarily grizzle hackles the Lap dancer has a couple of interesting techniques that you may not hav
Pseudo quill spider
An alternative technique for making substitute quill bodies in any colour that works excellent also for larger hook sizes.
Rackelhanen
This all synthetic adult caddis is one of Scandinavias most popular. An easy pattern with only one material that'll float all day long.
Flash back caddis larva
A quick and easy semi realistic caddis larva with a simple flash back and gills that fishes well, when you need to get down quick into that deep pocket water.
Keel mayfly nymph
An interesting departure from regular nymphs with an up-side down hook and a thorax bead keel for ballast and weight to get that nymph down fast.
Glow Bug
With a little preperation and a couple of tricks you can produce perfect Glow-Bug salmon eggs in just a matter of seconds, This is how!
Tying a dry fly hackle using any type of hackle
One of my new techniques for hackling with any type or size of hackle including partridge, wood duck, teal, Coq di Leon etc.

Yes, this is a trick question and easy to answer - it's g!
We ask it because spam bots are too stupid to answer correctly, while humans are not.
