Buckhorn Bully

The Buckhorn Bully is a simple fly pattern and can be tied in any number of color combinations. Use your favorite jig hook for the fly pattern and play around with the color of the bead you use. You can even mix the colors of the bug legs. I've done well on the warm water species using chartreuse and black colors. I've been really quite successful with the fly in 2020, catching bass (small, large, and rock), bluegills, perch, crappie, and pumpkinseeds.

Hey Thread Heads! Happy New Year
I hope everyone has had a good holiday. I wanted to share one of my best performing 2020 fly patterns here on the channel to get the year off to a good start. Basically, I tied this pattern as a more durable #squirmyworm using the Fly Tyers Dungeon Bug legs. These come in 10 different sizes, (https://www.flytyersdungeon.com/Materials/bodyandlegs.htm) I just used the 100% size here. The legs take a beating and hold up well. Just be sure to use a generous amount of cement to increase durability.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
