Notes: The infamous Mickey Finn bucktail has been the demise of countless fish around the globe in many forms. This pattern is a tribute to the Mickey Finn's propensity to attract fish and it's ascendancy in the streamer niche over the past hundred years or so. The Mickey Finn was originally developed in Quebec in the 19th century by Charles Langevin and called the Langevin. In the early 1900's, it was produced commercially by William Mills and Sons and packaged under the simple name "Red and Yellow Bucktail". During the 1930's popular Author John Alden Knight had designated the pattern the "Assassin" based on it's already storied history of catching slabs. Finally, Gregory Clark's nomenclature chosen after Rudolph Valentino died from a lethal dose of the barbiturate commonly called a
"Mickey Finn", had the name finally stuck.
