How James Widmaier caught a record breaking sailfish during his 50th wedding anniversary stay with his wife in Costa Rica
Read the story here.
James Widmaier
I have been fly fishing and tying flies for 60 years. My journeys included trout, salmon, and saltwater adventures in Canada, Costa Rica, and principally the United States. I have witnessed dramatic changes in the environment, fishery, and fly fishing technology over these 6 decades but still am drawn to flyrod challenges. Tying better flies
Fabien Moulin aims to tie some really good looking flies, and ponders a bit about how to improve as a fly tyer.
Read Fabien's thoughts here.
My book register
My books used to be ordered by black magic, essentially a system where I stuffed in new titles where there was space. Things have changed.
Bar Guac Hopper
This pattern, which takes its name from the popular appetizer Guacamole, was inspired by the 'Bar Guac' special at a local fly fishing hangout.

Top Saltwater Flies
Is it fair to say that a book is too nice? Too well made? Too gorgeous?
Not really...
