Flyfishing With a Detachable Strike Indicator (DSI)

In an earlier YouTube video (https://youtu.be/aLpU149v6Pg), I showed how to tie a Detachable Strike Indicator (a DSI) using Spinners snap (also called a clevis). In this video, I show how handy the DSI is to attach and remove while fishing-- all without kinking the leader.
This video also shows how a DSI enables a contact nymphing setup to be easily converted to a suspension system. By suspending the flies, fish can be caught at an extended range because the drift can be set up so that there is no drag making the flies act unnaturally-- like that can happen when you overcast a contact nymphing system.
