I fish in the ocean

Yes, I actually do cast my flies into the waves! And it's great too, even though I prefer them to be small waves.
I almost always fish from the shore, which means wading in knee deep to waist deep water. This kind of fishing in the sea is special, mostly in a mental way, but also technically.

The ocean is chaos...

Mentally you have to overcome the thought of the ocean as a big, chaotic mass of water. It is of course, but as any kind of water it has it's order in the chaos. It can be overviewed and read like a stream and 'lies', 'feeding lanes', 'shelters' etc. can be found just like in any other kind of water.

...but it's ordered

It can seem harder to find and see these things in the ocean. It sure is big, and waves or not, the surface is quite colossal. But what you can do is use a set of three simple rules.

The GFF money box

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
