Seatrout March Brown

A March Brown tied grub style for sea run sea trout in the salt.

Instruction: 
  1. Start the thread just in front of the hook bend.
  2. Tie in the fibers for the tail. Fibers from the mottled tail coverts are longer and coarser and good for the purpose.
  3. Tie in the rib. Double or quadruple if using tying thread.
  4. Dub the rear half of the body.
  5. Wrap rib in 2-3 turns, tie down but leave the remaining rib.
  6. Tie in a hackle, tip first, curved side forward.
  7. Wrap 3-4 turns while stroking back the fibers.
  8. Tie down, cut off surplus.
  9. Dub the front half of the body.
  10. Wrap rib in 2-3 turns, tie down and trim remains.
  11. Tie in a second hackle, tip first, curved side forward.
  12. Wrap while stroking back the fibers.
  13. Tie down, cut surplus.
  14. Form a small head, whip finish and varnish.
